The Maveerar World Cup is an international Eelam Tamil football tournament organised by the Sports Council of Tamileelam. It brings together Eelam Tamil communities across the world to compete in a celebration of sport, culture and unity.

The tournament is named in honour of our Maveerar — and is played with the highest spirit of respect and sportsmanship.

Teams from participating countries first compete in a local selection phase (the Maveerar Cup) to qualify for the World Cup finals. The World Cup itself then brings all qualified teams together in group stages and a knockout phase to crown the champion.

The tournament is played in three official World Cup categories:

Countries may also organise additional local Maveerar Cup categories (e.g. U18, Veterans, Masters 40+) that are part of the local tournament experience but do not qualify for the World Cup.

This tournament is played according to the official FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game. The only adjustment is the match duration, as the tournament takes place in a single day:
